The Kiss series

I decided to carry on with my kiss series today. Is hard to find the time to do any work at the moment with a toddler to look after. But it felt great getting out my art box again. The dust was starting to collect.

I actually made a start on this series a few years ago. I love the story told by two lips locked together, be it a man and woman in love or a mother and child etc and wanted to capture that moment that tells it's own story.

I am not sure if I intend to stick to the same medium, I might switch to paint. But for now I am using pastels. A mixture of winsor and newton soft pastels and faber castell pastel pencils.

This piece title The Kiss II and is on Ingres Paper and is approx 15x7.5 inches.

Halloween

Well it is coming close to that time of year again, so rather than closing our curtains and hiding, we have decided that this year we are going to join in with the fun. We have decorated the outside of the house with some halloween items, a scary cat, tombstone, bats, cobwebs and have even got Isaac a little devil costume (highly appropriate lol). So today we created this: (which is not bad considering a toddler helped)

A little something me and my son created this afternoon. I think he is rather cute. He hasn't got a name yet though. My son is already become a budding artist at just the age of 2 ;)

The Kiss

The kiss was an idea for a series of work that I had after seeing a couple in an intimate embrace kissing in public. There is nothing more beautiful than the lock of two lips of two people who are very much in love. The below is just a start I made on the idea but I have not had a chance to work any more on it (Yet!!!)

Hmmmmm well what do you put on a first entry to your blog. I am not very good at introductions. Basically this blog is for me to record my creations or thoughts for creations from all things arty, be it a drawing, a photograph, a painting or even just a scribble.

I am hoping to add even more to that when I get a sewing machine and experiment with making even more random Shevy Creations. No idea what though yet.

So there we have it, my first blog entry. Interesting huh?? (NOT) lol
